Chapter 24

Cam finished putting the dishes away before sighing. Things were getting complicated once again. Refugees were flooding to his kingdom, and now he had a new spirit beast that was legendarily rare and hiding something. The more confusing part of that was the fact she enjoyed getting close to him. He liked it too, if he was being honest.

Then there was Zendaya. The overeager tigerkin was a mess. She bounced from one topic to another, awed by everything that he had done. She was his first real fan, and he didn’t know how to take it.

Now both of those ladies were living with him, so that he could keep an eye on Ingrid. Navi was likely following her around right now, despite Celine and Lex being with her.

Closing his eyes for a moment, Cam took a few deep breaths. He had responsibilities today that needed to be taken care of. For too long managing the town had been on the back burner. Celine was a godsend when it came to handling the small affairs, but he had been ignoring the big ones, and with the refugees, he needed to get a handle on things.

With his mind cleared of stress, Cam left the house. The walk to town would only take a few minutes, despite being three miles away. With his garden growing in complexity and size, he found that he was nearly as strong as a tier five. With a few more weeks of practice, he’d likely reach that level of power.

The best part of reaching tier four was the ability to practice in the new tier four section of the undead dungeon. The other three were growing closer to tier three, but his original dungeon had evolved, and he hadn’t been able to explore the new floor yet. Even Naomi hadn’t gone there, as they both just reached tier four not too long ago.

They were progressing quickly through the tiers, or relevant power to the tiers. The maturity of their minds played a large factor in the growth of their garden. As an adult, they should have already reached tier fifty, at least as a spirit beast. It seemed now that their growth was increased, compensating for the late change in their bodies.

With their cores gone, Cam found that he much more enjoyed cultivating his garden rather than getting experience. The visible growth and complexities of creating paths and flower beds was intoxicating. Sharing it with his mates was even better.

When he finally solidified his stance with Celine and Lex, he was going to be able to take part of their souls into his. Like Naomi and her black flowers, he was curious what they would bring. He already knew that Naomi loved his fire flowers and decorated her garden liberally with them.

Stepping into the town, Cam found the TSM headquarters and made his way over. Adrien and Kim were currently in the main lobby with Netty. The three were overseeing a group of guild members.

“We won’t tolerate any discrimination against the other races,” Adrien was saying.
